FAO D&C and NYC

Hi Duckie. I used to work with a company in NYC- I missed your earlier post, but for what it is worth, my experience on flying to NYC is avoid United Airlines like the plague, American Airlines vary from ok to bad. Continental from Gatwick are okay, Northwest are terrible with ropy old planes. I have to say i thought US Airlines were rubbish- like long distance Ryanair. BA have the best cabin crew and do some cheap rates but some of their Economy cabins are a bit uncomfortable. Virgin do some cracking offers and the cabin is not bad but the cabin crew are often rubbish in economy. If you want somewhere cheap to stay the Residence Inn off Times Square is really quite good (most Residence Inns aren't). If you get one of their deals the Sofitel and Casablanca Hotel are very good (normal rates expensive in both). Also sometimes you get late package deals to the Essex House, which is quite posh with rubbish staff but great location and nice rooms. Whatever you go for, for your first visit it is best to stick to Manhattan. Hope that helps.
