In light of the new Ipswich "debt buyout" story

Although we don't know the details it could well be that they sc8m are going to be bailed out due to a realisation by NU/Morley that they will never get their money back and so they are better off taking a lower sum and getiing something.

This has re-nfoced the view i have held for a few years now that if you are a club of a certain size there is absolutely no point in running your football club "prudently" because someone will always come along and bail you out or re-structure your debts.

Over the last decade we have probably been the most prudent club in the top two divisions and where the hell has it got us. We are in exactly the same position (if not worse) thans Leeds, Ipswich, Leicester and various other clubs who have all enjoyed periods of success on the back of spending money they probably couldn't afford but have all been bailed out in one way or another. Ok they are as bad as us now but at least they've had some fun along the way!

A club of our size and with our assets will never go bust as there will always be someone willing to take it on or who has a vested interest in seeing the club still trading. You name me a major football club that has gone out of business in recent years!

Rant over - messge to Doomcaster - stick your prudence up your backside.
