There's quite a lot of stuff unfortunately - both Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have documented human rights abuses by the Chavez regime.
Amnesty International has documented at least 14 deaths and at least 200 wounded during confrontations between anti-Chávez demonstrators and National Guard, police, and other security personnel in February and March 2004, and continuing reports of unlawful killings by the police.
He's introduced harsher penalties for libel, defamation and insult, which resulted in a growing number of journalists appearing before the courts.
As for corruption, the main complaint seems to be that he does everything through his tightly controlled army who often act outside of the law. According to AA billions of dollars have been siphoned away from social programs by corrupt officials.
Bum. Still never had much time for Castro and Ortega either....
