Worthy sometimes is rather confusing

When talking about cover for Helveg he said:

?Matty Jonson had a game and a half in that position last season but you'd prefer to keep people in their own positions as much as possible,? he said.

Am I wrong in saying that Jonson is actually a striker and scores quite regularly when played in this position for his country. Why then does Nigel persist in making daft statements like this?
