we've signed anyone and then to go the telly for less important news.
Mate, I'm not after making a major issue about this, 'cos I wasn't there. I'm just pointing out that you don't get the full story from the mainstream media. I haven't seen the footage you describe, but even if I had, I wouldn't have seen what went before it.
Then again I should agree that yes of course you get a few w**kers on demos, people intent on causing damage - you get them at football matches too, doesn't make the River End a hotbed of anarchy. But the Beeb have form for showing a handful of tossers and then painting the entire demo in the same colours.
What you don't ever get to see is the police wading in for no reason. When you see a face-to-face confrontation between the police and the demonstrators, with tenseness on both sides of the line, you never see that (for example) the police have retreated and reformed after a brief period of unprovoked head-cracking....and the demonstrators, naturally f**ked off with the attack, step forward in their anger and frustration.
Two sides to a story - you should know that mate. In this case, neither of us knows. I'm just saying you can't trust the TV news.
Peace.
