re. Old for new replacements...

Worked for 6 months fixing phones at A-Novo in Norwich. At one time we were fixing up to 50,000 phones a week. The vast majority were fixed, no matter what state they in, the vast majority of those were reconditioned, re-packaged and sold as new. All sorts of makes, the plastics were replaced and the bottom connector given a rub to make it shine – quick test and away. Orange actually made us put a new bottom connector on (5 min job, melt the old one off with a heat gun and melt the new one on) but I shudder to think of the state some of the guts of those ‘new’ phones were in. And we had lots of ‘bouncers’, they were phones with intermittent faults that just kept coming back. The stock of properly new phones in the UK is relatively small, most are recons and / or phones with a fault waiting to happen…. CHECK THE BOTTOM CONNECTOR NEXT TIME….
