Now, the stock market movement and the Saudi evacuation stories do indeed smell

of conspiracy.

But, as the programme concluded last night, conspiracy AFTER the event.

The Yanks didn't do it, but they most certainly used it afterwards and blew it up out of all proportion to achieve their aims. Some may even have known about it before (very few), or at least have suspected something. But I don't think those things get as far as the President.

And as for the stock movements, remember that a massive part of the US stock market is Saudi money.

Since all but one (?) of the hijackers were Saudi (yeah, funny the Yanks didn't bomb SA innit ?), it's likely that at least a few of the Saudis controlling large amounts of stocks had an idea that something might be about to happen.
