England's bid for the 2018 World Cup....

Saw the news this morning, along with a comment from the BBC that while the English didn't do well on the field, the one huge success was the behaviour of the fans in Germany which went a long way to restoring faith in the England fans worldwide.

Funny that, cos yesterday afternoon I was watching a Panorama (i.e. BBC) documentary on Google Video about the disgusting behaviour of some (however, read in to that "hundreds" as opposed to "tens") so-called "fans" at the World Cup in Germany. This also included a worrying trend that English hooliganism has moved on from the "professional hooligans" who organised fights with other "firms" by mobile phone, to just a bunch of drunken, racist, violent louts who fight anyone they can find.

How come 6 months ago the behaviour was so bad that it was apparently worth the BBC making a whole 1.5hr documentary about, and now it was so great that it was a great advert for English football ?
