and yes it is very cheap in comparison to over here. A good meal will set you back about 50-70 baht (80p-?1) and that's in a restaurant, go to some street vendors and you could probably survive on ?1.50 a day or less.

If you're looking to go then the flight will be your most expensive outlay. You can get a three star hotel along off the Sukhumvit road for about ?15 a night including breakfast. I'd reccomend The Manhattan, cheap, good location and decent facilities for around this price on asiarooms.com
