... I've attempted to use past experience in order to examine the options facing the board if it's to help get us back in contention near the top of the league in the months and years ahead. Warning: it's exhaustive, but it's a very complicated subject, and whether it sticks or twists, both options are fraught with pitfalls.

Would appreciate any thoughts people on here have: put yourself in the board's shoes for a moment. What would YOU do? Keep a look out for a somewhat revisionist take on the play-off season, by the way; and if you're perturbed by the length, take heart. I imagine many on here won't be able to get into work today (Fierce Panda excepted!), so you can read this at your leisure! (he said hopefully...)
