The reported "take it or leave it" final offer of ?1.7m from Portsmouth is approx ?500K under the minimum valuation for a proven Prem player.

Granted, he had an iffy second half of the campaign but you cannot doubt his overall contribution. He is on a long contract and there is no need for us to cut our own throats over this one. If Primus had been somewhere in the mix it might have tempted Worthy.
