So why are we looking at cheap players?

Could it be something to do with the fact that we won't receive the bulk of the Green and MacKenzie money until the summer?
Interesting to note that our bid for Lappin (?50,000) equates to just ONE month's salary for Worthington the man who:
Presided over an academy that has produced next to nothing
Presided over a scouting team that produced Etuhu
Presided over a medical team that thought Thorne was fit
Managed his budget so well that last January the club had to borrow money to play a player's wages
Brought in coaches who can't coach players to take dead balls, or defend dead balls, or line up walls, or stay onside (really Neil, what DO they do all day?0
Said "you could never had too many attackers" and that we had a "wealth of midfielders" and then reduced the number of strikers whilst adding to the midfielders
Went into a season with 4 goalies and no right wingers, and when it worked so well did it again.

And all the while this was going on, our lovely board who we all love were busy being obsessed with the crucial "paninis - yes or no?" issue.
