But I'd rather the club held their hands up and said 'we're f**ked financially' than repeating 'we've made funds available and the manager's happy with that' bulls**t.

I don't necessarily want multi-million pound strikers. We can't afford it. But someone who is not free or going to costs the equivalent of a bottle of whisky would be nice.

It would certainly give the fans something to get excited about and look forward to.

Just that at the moment the names being bandied about ain't going to do that.
