to. If we get relegated we lose more than a few hundred thousand.
Like I say, we already have some playes out on loan, which must have freed up a bit of money.
If grant has to pay a loan fee and a 10k + salary per week to get somebody who can score goals in this division, then so be it.
If it all goes tits up at least they have tried (albeit too late). But they can hold their hands up and say we got johnny somebody in from Liverpool on loan. He wasn't cheap, we paid a ?250,000 loan fee until the end of the season and ?13,000 a week in salaries. A total outlay of just over ?500,000.
I can't see how the club can lose here really. We may stay up without paying over the odds for a decent loan. We may not. We may not stay up with a decent loan player.
If we stay up and the loan player scores a few, it is ?500k well spent in my opinion. And will be more than repaid with us being in the Championship next season.
If we go down, yes we have spent ?500k but will it be this that will really cripple us in League 1. Or the lower gates, and less money you get from being in league one. I think the latter is more important.
If we didn't sign the loan player and went down, we would still be pretty much in the same financial position as if we did.
If we did go down, Earnshaw would definitely go in the summer, along with possibly Safri and Drury, and maybe some more, I don't know. The money we would receive from these players would would help our financial position in our first season in league one.
