It's Time To Panic

Anyone got that "deja-vu" feeling?

Let's face up to an obvious fact, here. Norwich City don't "do" relegation scraps. We haven't got what it takes to fight when it matters. There are no tough guys in our team. Nobody to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in. The closest we've got is Dickson Ethuhu. I rest my case.

Tonight, we were beaten at home (again) by a very poor side. Wolves had no-one of the ability or flair of a Huckerby or a Croft. But they had 11, then 10, and then (for f**k's sake!) 9 players who were determined to win every tackle, every loose ball, every individual battle to TRY and MAKE a difference. They wanted it more than us. And so, once again, despite dominating the game, we have lost.

I thought we played better tonight than we have done for a long time. In the first half, anyway. We created a shed load of chances. But we didn't score. Earnie has scored 17 goals in a struggling side this season. And now he's injured. And, I fear, because of that, we are f**ked. I think the crowd sensed that, tonight. I didn't hear the boos of which I've read about tonight. I heard a sustained round of applause at the final whistle in recognition of a 100% effort from our players. Unfortunately, our team is a lightweight team. A team of players who can only play if the opposition allows them to play. If the opposition get's in our faces and makes it hard for us, we just can't cope.

We don't "do" relegation scraps.

We're doomed.

(Over my dead body!!) COME ON, CITY!!
