But it's only worth it if you download a lot of files, lots of servers will let me download at 240k/s or near so I wouldn't worry about server capping the download limit. For a normal internet browsing I would recommend 512k, I had it before and there's not too much difference in the loading of webpages, even with 512 you'll mostly be downloading pages as fast as your brower can render them.

I use nildram 2 meg which is 25.99 and has a fair use policy of 50 gig a month during peak hours. Very few people would use more than that. I'd recommend them to anyone and they've always been very reliable with no dips in speed. Would be wary of some of the smaller providers as they can be less reliable sometimes. I'd always check out www.adslguide.org.uk for feedback and reports on different ISPs
