... And then barely explain why. Of course Balls' mood was lightened by our title-winning season: but it would've been utterly complacent not to point out the serious flaws in our performances against Ipswich and Gillingham (which were respectively followed by defeats against Cardiff and Palace, if you recall). No doubt, Worthington was letting the players know precisely the same thing: we were likely to go up, but the job wasn't done yet.
Your record is relevant because it hasn't stopped you pointing fingers at various parties on here when posting your opinion as though it was proven fact - only for your opinion to become plainly ridiculous within months or even weeks. And I agree, some Worthy Outers were horribly venomous and bilious in their behaviour: though quite why this continually led you to tar all on here with the same brush is a question only you can answer.
Question: heard the one about the pre-season title favourites whose manager had clearly passed his best, players run out of form and motivation, and board seemed locked in a disastrous state of myopia - but which (often through local newspaper correspondents) at times blamed the FANS (and specifically, a few idiots on messageboards) for their failure? That'd be our cuddly family club, Norwich City.
And that myopia and misplaced blame led to more and more anger from the paying public: and rightly so. There wouldn't have been any anger had the club done what was blindingly obvious - what, indeed, the likes of you and Waghorn continued to argue against (as well as becoming personal with those they disagreed with). And look what happened: a team who were literally waitiing for the axe to fall, a board which couldn't decide whether to stick or twist, a ludicrously thin squad, and a quite appalling waste of all that had been built up earlier in the decade.
So we're back to square one: and given we won the title three seasons ago, I'd say that represents a 'fall from grace', wouldn't you? As does the fast diminishing goodwill toward a once highly popular board; as does the prospect, given our parachute payments are running out, of worse to come. And that many fans are seriously cheesed off about all this makes them passionate supporters who care about their club - not that anyone would think this if they took the utterly obtuse line you continue to push you seriously.
