Dodgy keeper positioning in the 70's, was it really like that?

I was watching Soccer Superstars of the 70's video, (too young to remember any 70's football as I wasn't born until 79).

Several keepers on there had really dodgy positioning from corners and set pieces. If the ball broke free or the keeper only half punched clear, it left the goal wide open.

Were goalkeepers told to position themselves like this then?

It wasn't just a one off, several of the goals, featuring top class keepers highlighted this.
