Moth's aren't attracted to light, FACT.

What happens is, they use moon/star light to navigate by. They pick a bright light, say the moon, and fly so as to keep it at say 30 degrees. That works with a light source at distance,

But when that light source is close, a trajectory to keep it at 30 degrees describes a decreasing spiral, hence the stupid f**ker eventually flies into the lightbulb/candle.
