Hello Neil,

As I am sure you are very much aware the closing of
the transfer window is 10 days away and we are in dire
need of PERMANENT signings to strengthen the squad in
the push against relegation. Though we have utilised
loan signings effectively in the past with the amount
wasted on agents fees and the amount of players out of
contract I no longer consider it a sensible option for
us.

WHY? THEY CAN BE A VERY EFFECTIVE VALUE FOR MONEY WAY OF BRINGING IN
PLAYERS

We have recently seen Fleming shipped out on loan.
With it being a necessity to play Dion up front that
leaves us with:
Doherty - Out of form shot of confidence
Shackell - Suffering with niggling injuries
Spillane - Untested

What is the transfer strategy for the rest of January
and beyond?? Surely we should be strengthening rather
than weakening??
A) Can we expect further signings into the club for a
transfer fee before the end of January??

POSSIBLY. WORK IS ONGOING.

B) what efforts are being made to improve our scouting
network.

PETER SPOKE OF HIS INTENTION TO REVIEW THE SCOUTING NETWORK AFTER THE
TRANSFER WINDOW AT THE AGM

Why isnt this football club recognising
talent in the lower leagues before transfer fees
escalate? At present earnie, Safri aside there is
very little value in the playing squad. Sign talented
youngsters and you can move up the leagues and
hopefully secure promotion or sell on fur huge profits
and reinvest. I am bitterly disappointed that unlike
Peterborough we didnt invest 260K in George Boyd of
stevenage who the big clubs are already looking at
having played only 1 game for his new club.

WE DO NOT DISCOUNT PLAYERS IN THE LOWER LEAGUES (EG DRURY, MCKENZIE).
EVERY PLAYER IS JUDGED ON HIS MERITS

What is the strategy likely to be this summer when we
have 13 players out of contract??

WE DO NOT HAVE 13 PLAYERS OUT OF CONTRACT, AS A LARGE NUMBER OF THEM
HAVE FURTHER YEARS OPTIONS IN OUR FAVOUR
