AGM Thoughts

Further to the comments down the board I also went to the AGM last night. I have to say I was slightly disappointed the board were not put on the spot more but it is not always easy in that scenario. It must be said though that the tone of the meeting was clearly a lot more critical than when I have been in previous years. There was no brown nosing of the board and every single person who spoke was critical of things at the club in one way or another.

Peter Grant is clearly passionate and I can see why they gave him the job. Having said that I nearly lost the will to live during his first question response which went on for about 20 minutes.

Doncaster and Munby are politicians and if answering a different question to the one that was asked was an art form then they would be european champions. On several occasions they ducked the real issues by answering the part of the question that suited them but avoiding the interesting bit by saying "I think that has already been extensively debated here" or "this is not the appropriate forum to discuss that matter."

The one distrubing aspect for me was the boards obvious refusal to acknowledge their mistake in keeping Worthington on for so long and to take anyone onto the board with football experience. At least 3 or 4 questioners urged them to do this but each time they simply went on about how Directors of Football don't work thereby entirely missing/evading the point the fans were trying to make which was that they took too long to sack worthy because they were all blind to his inadequacies.

All in all nothing that intersting although if someone comes out of the woodwork and says they want to invest in the club things could get interesting!
