Don't expect wholesale changes just yet

IMO, all the screeching and hollering on the Pinkun misses one very bald point; we are STILL stuck with the players Worthington signed and there is an almost zero possibility of offloading them until their contracts expire. Never mind whether Worthington should have been sacked in the summer, by that stage he had signed, on large wedge, the likes of Hooves, Thorne, Louis-Jean, Robinson, and Our Desmond - that's 3/4 of our midfield, about 1/4 of our Senior squad, and we won't start to get rid of them until contracts start to expire in July. There is certainly no incentive for them to jump, because I doubt they'll ever match the wages they are on. Given the way they have been playing, I can hardly see queues forming at the door to pick them up, but that's another story!

You can argue all you like about whether Worthington (Who arranged these deals and the wages - THREE AND A HALF YEARS for Our Desmond!?) or the board (Lack of intensive oversight) are to blame, once the contracts were signed, we are stuck with the players.

Spring would be an excellent signing, if it comes off and isn't just board talk. Edwards of Shrewsbury could well be worth a punt at ~?300k as well.
