GSM / GPRS / Edge ? Probably not, as the US used CDMA which is entirely incompatible with GSM & Co. The US has now upgraded to CDMA 2000 which is the basis for UMTS, so I would imagine it will only be available on UMTS networks, for which the coverage is now s**t, with NO handover to GSM networks when 3G coverage fails.
