Profile, the rumour is quite strong & coming from the West Country.

David is a product of Shrewsbury Town's youth system and a former player for the Away Supporters team. People who have predicted great things for the 18 year old have been vindicated by his excellent performance for the Wales U20 side earlier this season and his first team performances for Shrewsbury Town since the turn of the year. David is a tall central midfielder who looks to attack, and his runs in support of teammates show great awareness for such a young player. The Gay Meadow crowd has taken him for his whole-hearted effort over 90 minutes. Already capped by Wales at U19 level and called into their U21 squad last season, David signed a two and half year professional contract half way through this season.

David wasn't doing the best under Jimmy Quinn and nearly went out on loan, but Gary Peters has brought the youngster back into the first team and Edwards flourished in the later part of last season. He turned in a number of excellent performances and weighed in with a number of excellently taken goals for Town.
