Some realism about the finances

1. Yes we do have a large number of season ticket holders. But it is cheaper to attend at Carrow Road than the majority of grounds. And in any event the season ticket income is mortgaged for many years to come.
2. The gross mismanagement of the playing budget means that we are paying huge wages to players who, in several cases are not even championship standard. As a result the club week in week out makes a big operating loss which is why Grant will never receive the full proceeds of any sale.
3. The fault for this rests exclusively with the board. Worthington was managing a budget in excess of ?20 million last year without, as Clancy has iterated and re-iterated, any input from the board. Unsurprisingly he f**ked up. Clancy seems to think that either the board has no say at all in footballing matters, or picks the team - Hearts stylee. Not so. At manure Ferguson has to make a case for every player he signs. If our board spent a little less time trying to make a profit on pies, and a little more time looking at what happens on the football side, then we would not be in the position of paying Premiership wages to third division standard footballers. BUt then, in the matter of their own time, as with everything else, the notion of "opportunity cost" is something that has passed the board by.
