in with the wrong crowd or whatever. If the local girls aren't careful I'm sure they run the risk of being mistaken for a working girl, so no-one's really safe. It's hardly their fault they were murdered, he's just fortunate he doesn't have to do that for a living, just spends all his money on them ;)
