Once again too many batsmen go missing when their needed... no-one has been cosistant in the way Ponting (apart from one innings) and Hussey have.
Freddie won't be his old self until either Vaughan returns or England appoint another captain. Poor bloke has too much on his shoulders.
Monty has over two days demonstrated the short-sighted thinking by the England heirarchy... but too little too late. When in the past Fletcher and Vaughan haven't shyed away from bring in fresh faces and trying something new... alot of our undoing in this series is slipping back and relying on old faces who are out of form and haven't played test cricket for over a year. We plainly miss Simon Jones, but Anderson and Giles? Why? Neither have the potential to be match winners.
Geraint Jones again fails with the bat, whilst a safer pair of hands and better batsmen sits twiddling his thumbs in the pavillion.
England's undoing in this series and the reason they're 3-0 down after three tests is the negative approach they've taken in their defence of the Ashes. Trying to rely on strength in depth with batting at the expense of match winning bowlers was plainly a wrong decision. And the failure of our supposed strongest batting line up, hasn't given our bowlers anything to bowl at in response. The fact we dominated Adelaide for pretty much four days and lost it in two hours... followed by dominating at the WACA yesterday and yet throwing it away in the first session this morning says everything.
