It's "wherefore", and it doesn't mean "where" it means "why"

Most famous use is Juliet's line "O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?" She doesn't mean "Where are you?", she means "Why are you" (ie bemoaning the fact that he is from the wrong family and thus that their love is doomed)
