Essien's was the better goal

because it was precise and totally controlled.

Taylor's looked more spectacular but there was a certain degree of luck involved - you can't hit a ball that high in the air at that speed and realistically control where it will come down. It was a very smart idea to have a go but that could really have gone anywhere.
