Thoughts from Saturday

In summary, Hunter needs to work on how and where the full backs and midfield defend. They do not close anyone down quickly enough. They allow the opposition to play the ball about at will. Jarvis and Thorne are not good together and McVeigh is just not good at all! Etuhu was not at the races and Robinson is a ?support? player, not a play maker.

Camp
Played well enough

Drury
Good first half, ragged in the second. Why is it that both full backs position themselves exactly half way between the centre backs and the touchline? This leaves an easy ball to any opposition player out wide. Sort it out Mr Hunter!

Colin
Same positional sense as Drury, but fails to go out to any wide close down, let alone tackle a player, prefers marking space! Looks better going forward than he did last year, which is hardly bsurprising as he was dreadful last year. Stupid unnecessary tackle for his booking

Dublin
Apart from THAT mistake, brilliant. He is so good in the air!

Shackle
Played well and with heart!

Huckerby
As ever, good in part, no support, badly protected by the referee. Our only attacking option

Hughes
Two ok passes then one awful one! Much much better as a defender!

Etu who?
Didn?t seem bothered. Like Robinson never made himself available for a pass. Never went towards the man with the ball, prefering to run away, never marked tightly. Took no responsibility. Had a good argument with Grant though!

Great first touch, but no pace!

Jarvis
Not up to it at the moment. Well off the pace Needs a long spell in the side or sent out on loan. Reminded me of how Kevin Reeves looked in his first couple of games. Needs to beef up and get stronger.

McVeigh
Don?t know what he does in training, but he doesn't do it in games. He has been dreadful the last three seasons. Should not be in the squad ever again!
