We passed poorly (so did Sunderland), but tackled, at times, with bite and determination.
Too many aimless passes, too many clueless throw-ins.
Where IED saw his "attractive football" I do not know. Earnshaw's shot was a belter - the one that Ward parried and gathered at the second attempt. Perhaps he's taking about that particular 0.5 seconds of football?
I would have bitten your hand off if you'd offered me a draw, but I'm not too disappointed in the reuslt, glad in a way that we managed to keep it down to only 1-0. To be honest, it wouldn't've been unjust if it was 0-0. Sunderland didn't outplay us, but they were marginally less rubbish than us.
It was two reasonably evenly matched teams, both with the potential to be rather good, and both with the inclination to be rather poor.
Sort out the clueless throw-ins though, ffs. Learn to to the simple things well.
