1. c). Maybe, just maybe, the board don't have the ability to dictate exactly when players (e.g. Cotterill) become available. Agents, anyone?

2. Maybe they thought a previously successful manager had the ability to continue to inspire the team. In hindsight it's easy to say it wasn't the right choice but at the time...

3. If you're not prepared to put it on your pinkun blog then why spout it off here? If you really believed it then you'd have the balls to put it in print.
