Broadly, B2B = Business-to-business i.e. products/services for which the customers are likely to be other businesses, as opposed to individual consumers. The sales cycle is very different (and more complex), the marketing strategy will be different as well (and harder). Issues like after-sales support are more important too; however a degree of sophistication can be assumed of the customer, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving is more likely than with a B2C (C=consumer) scenario, as long as the relationship is managed well - a key facet to B2B business (businesses buy in a relationship-oriented way, as opposed to individual consumers who often buy in a transaction-oriented way).
