What's wrong and what's to be done

After the game (sic) yesterday, my mates had a discussion about the present squad and what we would do if we were walking into Colney tomorrow as the new manager.

We all agreed that there are 8 players in the current squad who we just wouldn't pick Louis-Jean, Fleming, Thorne, Hughes, Etuhu (unless the next game is the one in five when he turns up), Henderson, Doherty and Robinson. We would be extremely reluctant to pick McVeigh on present form and we noted that Camp goes back to Derby on 9th December. That's 10/11 out already and with Croft and Chadwick injured that makes 13 not available under our criteria.

This is the measure of the legacy that Worthless has left us and may well be a measure of the mess the board is presiding over. It also tells you how hard it is for Grant to do anything with a squad littered with useless players, wasters, loungers and couldn't give a f**kers.

It doesn't excuse Grant for making stupid comments about the crowd and even more stupid comments about the quality of the "performance". Peter, to put it in good Scottish language, they were pish, pure and simple, and if the crowd went quiet then it's no surprise.

Obviously, Grant can't ignore the 8 crappers and the other less than keen squad members, but he can minimise the damage by not picking Hughes, Robinson or Thorne(did he do ANYTHING yesterday?) ever againand putting the 8 tossers on the list in January1st. He can take a risk with younger players like the Jarvis boys, Spillane and Eagle to fill the hole until he can start signing people in the New Year. Because these boys MAY be crap, but thet CAN'T be more crap than the 8/9 I've mentioned and the strayegy might just get us through to the window.

When he can sign players, Grant is going to have to show that he can spend money wisely and bring in boys that are keen, hungry and with at least enough talent to cut the mustard in this league. I wouldn't want to name names because some who've been talked about e.g. Billy Sharp from Scunthorpe, I've never seen, but I do know that somebody like Riordan, nut case though he is, would NEVER allow himself to walk away from a game giving f**k all.

Oh and by the way, can we stop playing fugging Hibby songs before games? I thank you.
