As soon as footballers and managers started to get paid thousands a week, many of them lost touch with the realities of being a fan - spending money and time on watching them, and in return you expect commitment. If you don't see commitment on the pitch then you're hardly going to turn up and bawl your head off for 90 minutes of a dreadful game against a dire team.
