It's sound enough reasoning not to want to over exert him in defence on "a pudding of a pitch" when he could be required up front for the last 20 minutes or so; but that'll be the state of pitches for the next three or four months ...
Also fair enough that he wants to "be judged as a striker"; that's his right. But right now it's all hands to the pump with our wafer thin squad; so, he plays whereever the manager wants him to play. No arguments. We did, after all, give him a contract when no-one else seemed to want him.
