Why Can't We Play 4-4-2?

No attacking threat today at all. On the other hand, Ipswich moved it about well and looked a threat everytime they came forward-and with pace. Legwinski was a decent signing, shame we didn't think about him at the time.

The midfield is woeful at the moment. Hughes offers nothing, I can't be doing with Grant's praise of him, he offers very little-the only role I could see him playing is as a "destructive" midfielder who breaks things up and gets them moving again, the trouble is, to do that, you need someone a bit creative (a Legwinski!) alongside you who can take the ball off you and do just that. Robinson is too similar a player to Hughes, so the two of them passing to each other is not going to achieve anything, whilst Safri just doesn't seem to get going, I'm sure he could be twice the player he is for us at the moment, but he doesn't look interested/motivated, I don't know, but he's too inconsistant at the moment to "carry".

And of course, all 5 of them scurrying about close together means that they all get in each others way and opt for either passing back or passing long, Earnie having to jump for high balls against De Vos all game was a pitiful sight.

I really hope Grant can get someone big and strong to play alongside Earnie (why can't Jarvis be given a run of 6-8 games, do the business or ship him out)-that plus a genuinely creative midfielder to play alongside Dixon and a centre half who can complement Shackell-see Doc was up to his tricks again today, someone posted yesterday that all he seems to do well is head the ball away, it certainly looked that way today.

Chadwick will be a decent squad player.

Its going to be one of those seasons-won't go down, won't go up. Lets hope PG can mould the squad between now and August so we can have some hope next season.
