From what I've read they are okay

But the unit is bigger and although the screen is bigger, it's the same resolution as the latest ipods (so no better in quality). I saw a video of the UI and it looks very nice, maybe not quite as intuative as the ipod but with more of an emphasis on album art, this is good but with 200+ albums like me it would probably take a while to navigate.

I'm fairly happy with my ipod photo, dispite the few flaws: poor battery life (esp on the photo version), tied to iTunes and worse sound quality than iRiver and from what AB says Sony too.

I'm not sure what I'd get now, might flog this at xmas and get something newer (don't like the fact it's out of warranty now). I'd like an iRiver but I don't think they update their products very much and the iPod UI probably wont ever be bettered
