I'm still confused about Live 8, is it a fund raiser or an awareness raiser?

i thought everyone was in agreement that raising ?10mil here, ?20mil there does absolutely nothing to help, just exacerbates the problems of corruption at government level in Africa.

did anybody see the "If.....We stop giving aid to Africa" programme the other night, quite interesting, if totaly fictional.
