It's all part of the "where do you put a Darren Huckerby" problem. Wide midfielder in a 4-4-2 seems obvious - but, as Grant's apparently only just realised, he doesn't track back. Yes he "should" - but he never has. But he isn't a striker, really, either.
So then do you fit a system around Hucks, or play something like 4-4-2 anyway and rely on Drury to cope/not go forward too much/put him in a free role/in the hole/leftish/whatever. Ultimately I think it's just a facet of Huckerby's play that we have to accept and somehow adapt to if we're also going to get the brilliance.
I also think it's no coincidence that Colin looks a different player now he's got a winger who *does* track back and help out (though there are still positional issues with him sometimes). Of course, now he's injured...
