Player ratings vs Col U

It seemed like a night of depression at Carrow Road last night...the cold, the swirling rain and the inevitablility that we would't win against the Essex boys...probably because of the players performances...

Gallacher - 7 - Kept us in the game with some superb saves from Cureton in particular. Still looks dodgy on crosses though.

Colin - 7 - Got forward really well, and defended stoutly. Just a shame when he gets in the forward positions he hasn't a clue what to do with it. Still, a much-improved player.

Doherty - 5 - I thought he has been subbed because he was s**t, alas, it was due to an injury.

Shackell - 6 - Generally ok, although it never feels totally safe with Shacks at the heart of defence. If he was given a better partner he would be another class.

Drury - 6 - Thought he could have linked up with Eagle better and given the ball to him more, gave a few cheap balls away and caught out of position too often.

Robinson - 4 - Truely awful, but was out of position. Slowed down our attacks by passing sideways and backwards all the time, and gave the ball away.

Safri - 5 - He has been poor all season bar 2 or 3 games, the reason why I do not know. He doesn't look like he cares at the moment.

Etuhu - 6 - Apart from the goal, it wasn't his best game but did make a few useful runs forward and isn't afraid to commit himself.

Eagle - 6 - Showed promise, but wasn't used enough. has a wicked cross on him, if only he and Dublin were on the pitch at the same time it might have been better for us.

Huckerby - 6 - Didn't look 100% but still our biggest threat going forward. We need to sign him up in the next month or risk losing him.

Earnshaw - 6 - Looked better when Dublin came on but you can hardly blame him, he was totally marrooned up front.

Subs
Fleming - 6 - Battled well considering he picked up an injury, but we still desperately need to replace him.

Dublin - 8 - Looked different class when he came on. Strong in the air, held the ball up well and that little flick for Etuhu was superb! If he could last 90 mins I would play him alongside Earnie.

Hughes - 4 - I give this guy a chance every time he comes on or plays but he constantly under performs. i am sure there is a decent footballer in there somewhere but we havent seen it yet. Needs a move to freshen his career, and our club, up.
