Have just got back to Colchester after tonights game and am feeling pretty depressed. I generally get to watch more Col U games due to geography and family commitments.
Having watched both teams for a number of years it seems to me that Norwich have got a 'we're a big team in this league' frame of mind and clearly they have not got the players to back that up. Col U however are scrapping for every point they can get.
Sitting high up in the N&P stand tonight 90% of the time when we had the ball anyone ahead of it was not moving at all. It's as if they think if they wait long enough the ball will come to them.
One player tonight showed the balls (I'm sure they are big balls as well) to get stuck in and he is supposedly in the twighlight of his career.
Maybe as a change to training this week the bunch of overpayed, big ego, on paper we are automatic promotion wasters should spend some time in some of the cities childrens hospital wards, schools, housing estates etc. to get a grip on what life is like outside the cosy Colney bubble and actually see what a difference they might make to the city and it's supporters around the country if they at least actually looked like they were putting 100% into it, no at least 80% would be an improvement.
As a passing note, if only the players ran as fast to the ball when Colchester scored as they did to the linesman, maybe then it wouldn't have been a goal.
