I think we have to give PG some slack...

his options were severly narrowed. He gambled on a formation that he thought might work... if we'd won 5-0, yes it would've been a miracle, but everyone would have been applauding his tactical vision.

Sadly it went tits up big style. PG is not the instant miracle worker. Yes, people were played out of position, but the point is even if Eagle had started ahead of Hughes, and Doc was centre-half instead of mid-field, we'd still have got tonked on Satdee.

Too many players on the field didn't give a rats-arse about playing in the glorious yella and green. It wasn't for the want of trying on PG's part. He was constantly on the edge of his technical area pointing and bellowing instructions, telling his players where they should be. He even hauled over Robinson at one stage to have a word about what he should be doing. Didn't have ANY effect, Robinson still ambled around trying as hard as he good not to get involved.

I'm afraid the fall-out from the Worthington era is going to be with us for some time yet. Dare I suggest infinite patience is required? ;-p
