That's no longer important Tipster.

It was necessary in the days of typewriters because it indicated when a longer pause was needed in the text but most people in the printing industry have been using a single space for decades. The correct usage is a space and a half, but that's quite tricky to produce on a computer (although in Word it's possible by adding a space using a half-sized font). HTML automatically deletes a second space, incidentally.
