wages might not be a problem..

but veteran player trying to preserve his fitness (rather than putting his all into the long hard unglamourous slog of a Fizzy Pop season) for one last crack at the World Cup might be. I think we'd be much better off letting him go. Very much doubt his effort levels will be worth his wage costs otherwise.
