In defence of the defence

I agree that the defence needs a natural organiser. This used to be Flem, but he is not so vocal these days

However, I thought that the problem lay with the zonal defence system and the lack of protection from the mid field. The players always seem to miss someone!

The first goal was hit from outside the box without any city players near him.

The second goal was hit from outside the box, with the wall in the wrong place! It was too far to our right even before it was passed to their right !

I couldn't see the third goal very well so can't comment.

I would be much happier man to man marking. You can see who is marking who, who is unmarked and who is not doing their job.

I hate the way Colin and Drury drift infield leaving anyone wide in acres of space.

I am sure PG has his own ideas and will sort it out.
