So where did the UK go? Did we join forces with the Soviets and go the Communist route? I don't think so. We stood firm with the US. Maybe the US went too far in their proxy wars during the Cold War, but still, we are closer to them than many other countries in the world, and should never withdraw from being their allie.

I am not familiar with the conflicts which you quote so cannot comment.
