What do you mean, the lobbies are a 'shambles'?

I've watched the French guys' video a few times. Everything looks fairly normal to be honest - then one tower collapses and (unsurprisingly) things a look a *little* different.

And maybe, just maybe, that firefighter who reckons he can put it out possibly underestimated his potential. Are you saying, without fear of contradiction, that he was able to assess the full extent of the conflagration on all floors?
