and Malky's comments earlier in the week certainly are promising .

Not someone I'd have picked, but obviously he's impressed at interview, isn't an inside appointment, has been successful at multiple clubs (Bournemouth and West Ham) even if at Assistant level, and has a bit of passion. He also knows the club a bit, having played here.

Like I say, wouldn't have been my first choice, but I'm not unhappy with that, given the circumstances - Southend and Blackburn were always going to rob us blind if we wanted their men, given the current manager market.
