Get an understanding with it, whilst teasing it. It's the best way, you'll stop hating it if you know you can aggrovate it, equally it will learn to know what your about and know what to expect, and will get used to you

Teasing cats with bits of chicken is also amusing, as you'll have their 100% attention :)
